I am anxious to share my experience and journey with my Sisterlocks...
It all began early 2006 when I decided to cut and color my hair. I had been going to the same beautician for over a year and had no previous problems, so I trusted her (of course). I chose to get my hair cut into a cute short bob with the back shaved and have my hair dyed a light brown... It was very cute for the first two weeks.... then the breakage began...
I tried EVERYTHING from deep conditioners to anything else you can name, i realized that whatever chemical she mad mixed up herself was way too strong for my hair. Each time I would try to comb it, chunks of my hair came out. To make matters worse, prom was around the corner and I had began to go bald.
After losing much of my hair I vowed to never again put another chemical in my head. NO PERM, NO DYE. I was left with no choice but to cut all of my hair to the new growth (about an inch) and start ALL over again.
For the time being, I kept tracks in my hair glued on top. Once my hair finally grew a decent length, I did the micro thing for several months, along with french braids...
A year later and about 4-5 inches of new growth, I decided I might as well stop wasting money on micros and get my hair locked as I always wanted. I knew I wanted my hair to be locked very small, but I had not yet seen locks as small as I wanted them. At this time I was unaware of Sisterlock method until one of my teachers assistants who had Sisterlocks (which I always adored during class) informed me about everything. She also referred me to her consultant, and the rest is history...
My journey began June 20, 2007...
